Description

This kit is to tune and improve the Beyerdynamic DT880. This kit lowers the treble spike and improves the low end.

You will need to install this kit yourself so make sure you have the technical skills and are comfortable opening your headphones. Be careful and take your time.

No special tools are needed and you do not need to unsolder the driver in order to fit it.

We can not be held responsible for any damage caused by clumsy fitting. The kit has been designed to be as easy as possible to fit and all the pieces are self-adhesive. The weights just stick into place and are self-adhesive and the damping material is pre-marked and all you have to do is cut along the lines for a perfect fit.

This kit comes in two versions, V1 and V2. Both produce slightly different results so please take a look at the frequency response measurements to decide the version best for you.

V1

The V1 mod kit uses lead strips to add mass to the driver. It also includes two strips of dampening material to be put around the outside of the earcup.

This kit adds to the low end whilst leaving the treble unaffected. The low end is more precise and less boomy. The treble retains the distinctive Beyerdynamic spike for those who love the sparkle.

V2

The V2 mod kit is the same as the V1 but substitutes the lead strips for copper rings. These give a good reduction to the treble spike for a more neutral, less harsh sound. These give the same improvement to the low-end with more precision and depth.
