Installation Guidance

Installation of this kit is intended to be a straightforward process, but it does require a degree of technical skill and confidence in handling headphones components. Users should ensure they are comfortable with opening their headphones and should approach the installation with care and patience.

No specialist tools are necessary for fitting the kit, and there is no requirement to unsolder the driver during installation. All kit components are designed to be user-friendly; the weights and damping materials are self-adhesive for easy application. The damping material is pre-marked for convenience, allowing you to simply cut along the lines to ensure a precise fit.

Kit Versions

The kit is available in two distinct versions, V1 and V2, each offering slightly different sonic results. For those uncertain about which version is most suitable, it is recommended to consult the frequency response measurements.

• V1 Mod Kit: Utilises lead strips to add mass to the driver and includes two strips of damping material to be placed around the outside of the ear cup. This version enhances the low end, making it more precise and controlled, whilst leaving the treble characteristically bright and sparkling as is typical of Beyerdynamic headphones.
• V2 Mod Kit: Features copper rings in place of lead strips, providing as noticeable reduction in the treble spike for a more neutral and less aggressive sound signature. The V2 kit also delivers improvements to the low end, offering greater precision and depth.

Important Notice

While the modification process is relatively simple, it is important to proceed with care to avoid potential damage to the headphones. The mod can generally be completed safely and quickly if instructions are followed attentively. However, it should be noted that any damage incurred during installation is the responsibility of the user.

For those who are hesitant about performing the modification themselves, there is an option to have the kit professionally installed. This service is available for a fee of £20 plus postage costs.

But in the unlikely event that you do have an issue with them, please get in contact with us. We are happy to help you. We offer a full 2 year ‘return to base’ warranty, and we keep all spare parts in stock, so that we can also send replacement parts if necessary. Outside of the warranty period we still offer repairs on all our products for a fair price.

International orders

Close to 70% of our customers are outside of the UK, so we have a lot of experience with international orders and worldwide shipping. All packages over £50 have a form of international tracking.

– European packages normally take 4-6 days.

– Packages shipping outside of the EU may be delayed in customs, but the tracking system should keep you updated of its progress.
