The HiFiMan HE400se Super Grills are available as a downloadable file for users with FDM 3D printers. The grill should be printed with the hexagon mesh side facing down, flat on the print bed. This configuration allows for printing without supports. The design is intended for PLA+ with a 0.4mm nozzle, though other materials may also be suitable. A mirrored version is required for use on the opposite side. Cura slices them fine with default settings. For Bambu slicer you need to select Arachne wall generator in Quality and detect thin wall in Strength to get the mesh to print properly.
Fitting Guidance
Use double-sided tape to affix the driver wires to the black felt that surrounds the outside of the driver. This step is important to ensure that the wires remain out of the way during installation and do not interfere with the magnets. Please refer to the video below for a detailed installation guide.
For additional protection, we recommend removing the fabric from the back of the original grill and placing it over the magnets. This prevents hairs or other debris from entering the headphone enclosure.

Important Notice
While the modification process is relatively simple, it is important to proceed with care to avoid potential damage to the headphones. The mod can generally be completed safely and quickly if instructions are followed attentively. However it should be noted that any damage incurred during installation is the responsibility of the user.
*Update 14/07/24 . The grilles have been redesigned slightly to make them a bit easier to print and the clips have been re-designed to make them less likely to snap off during installation. If you have already purchased this file, you should be able to re-download the latest version using the link you were sent

These are super nice – decent improvement of the sound and great looks!
However, if anyone else is struggling to print these after purchase of the STL-files, here is what worked for me (after dozens of fails):
Most important: Use Prusa Slicer or the latest version of Cura (5.3.1). Older versions of Cura don`t slice the grills correctly and don`t recognize the hexagon-pattern correctly (it leaves some lines out and I only found out after lots of attempts – thought some printer settings were wrong the whole time…).
Don`t use support (if the setting is activated, it will ruin your print even if it doesn`t look like any support is added during slicing) or the bottom layer won`t be printed correctly.
For print settings with my Anycubic Mega S i used: 0.3mm initial layer for best bed adhesion, 0.14mm print height, slow print settings, PLA with 200° celsius and 60° for the print bed.
25% infill with gyroid.
Still a lot of stringing but other than that, they now printed ok.
I think you would need a rather high quality printer for optimal results – the best way is probably just to order the printed ones from the shop.

The bottom could use some improvement for easier 1st layer, like making the hexagon pattern at least 0.4mm wide, but after disabling z-hop and setting flow to 98% it printed nicely. I definietly recommend calibrating your Printer skew with a Cauliflower to get that perfect fit.
I had to trim the magnet lips to fit on the bigger magnets of the V1 (3mm vs 4mm). It would be nice to have a dedicaded version for the V1s.

Great design and for a really fair price! For the Bambulab owners: make sure you set Quality > Wall Generator to Arachne. The basic wall generator fails to slice the hexagon grill properly.
