HiFiMan Edition XS Super Grills
These inserts will re-tune the edition XS to make it’s tuning closer to the Arya Organic. This will create more air in the high end and make them a bit brighter. If you are sensitive to sibilant sounds, these may not be for you.
This is a DIY kit and you will need to dismantle your headphones to fit them. If you don’t feel you have the skills to do that, we recommend contacting us. We can fit them for £20 + return postage.
Customer service and warranty
We know that you are paying a premium for our headphones. Which is why we make our headphones durable and reliable. But in the unlikely event that you do have an issue with them, please get in contact with us. We are happy to help you. We offer a full 2 year ‘return to base’ warranty, and we keep all spare parts in stock, so that we can also send replacement parts if necessary. Outside of the warranty period we still offer repairs on all our products for a fair price.
International orders
Close to 70% of our customers are outside of the UK, so we have a lot of experience with international orders and worldwide shipping. All packages over £50 have a form of international tracking.
– European packages normally take 4-6 days.
– US, AUS and Canada packages normally take 7-10 Days.
– Packages sent to the rest of the world can vary depending on local postal services.
– Packages shipping outside of the EU may be delayed in customs, but the tracking system should keep you updated of its progress.
(For customers outside of the UK only) Unfortunately, customs duties and fees may be charged when ordering from outside of the UK. This is outside of our control. we are NOT responsible for import duties. We will NOT write false information on a customs document in order to lower fees. All items have the UK tax removed and this will need to be paid by yourself when your item arrives at your local customs office. First, I wish these were in another color, but the black is shiny and textured, so I will deal with it. Second, I did NOT think these were going back together, the socket does not allow for an easy go. I watched the video several times where it was explained to push in on the socket as you put the driver brackets back in, and it looked easy when he did it, but he said they have been modified several times and were “loosey-goosey”. I had to use the table edge to push it in, and I would suggest that you start at the socket as you snap it back in, it was the only way it worked for me, and I walked away several times so I didn’t “rage quit” as I like my edition XS headphones very much. After coming up with the table edge method I was done in less than 10 minutes, if you do not count the 3 plus hours of growing frustration (hence the walking away) and rewatching of the video I did. I like that this can be reversed easily, without the need for a table edge.
The one thing I noticed is that I had to crank up the gain on all of my amps, but I did hear things in the B52’s Planet Claire which I never noticed, a tone added to the mix for the atmospheric background that went back and forth before the singing started, I was not expecting it, and on Black Hole Sun the sound of Chris Cornell yelling “Black Hole Sun” from every part of the background was exceptionally clear. I WANT a pair of Hifiman Organics, but not as much as I did before.
I don’t seem to need it, but no alcantra was in the box I recieved, which it did quickly, even though I live in the states. Another happy purchase from Custom Cans, I think this is my 4th.

This is an incredible product, and I’m extremely lucky to have found them thanks to the headphones and audiophile subreddits. I have been searching for new headphones for a week, doing all sorts of research before landing on the Hifiman Edition XS. I knew all the pros and cons, and it seemed like any con people would list could each be remedied by a relatively simple mod. This was one of them. This took my $250 headphones and made them (along with new fenestrated sheepskin ear pads) feel and sound like $1000 headphones. The price/performance ratio is actually crazy. $60 for the grill, with trim, AND international shipping, and it got to me in less than a week of ordering. These guys are the real deal, and I would, and plan to, recommend them to literally anyone who will listen.
You guys are the best, and I wish nothing but good favor and fortune.
