MassDrop x Sennheiser HD6XX Nickel plated CNC Copper Mass loading mod DIY kit
£35.00

Description
This is a shiny nickel plated copper weight, which adds mass to the rear of the driver and smooths the airflow slightly. By itself it gives more detailed bass and a little bit more sub bass. Ideally it should be combined with the removal of the foam disk on the rear of the driver, which will further improve the resolution of these already great headphones.
This version has been designed to complement the design of the HD6xx, but will work just as well in the HD600, HD650 and HD580
The mod can be fitted with no special tools and can easily be removed in the future.
We have now also updated the kit to include 4 different foam inserts that allow you to tune the bass levels to your own personal taste, whilst keeping the extra bass clarity and detail you get from adding the mass loading weight.

Probably the easiest mod you’ll ever do. I installed it on my HD650 in under five minutes, and I do everything at a snail’s pace. I ended up going the no foam configuration but tried several and found them all to be fairly appealing in different ways. If you want to be just plain silly, go with the no foam install, then add Yaxi pads. Comical amounts of bass. You will laugh when you hear it.
Again, great, versatile, easy, and visually attractive mod. I’ve seen a couple of people on Reddit speculate about this being snake oil. I do understand being worried about snake oil in this hobby, as it is full of it, but this isn’t one of them. Physics offers a very simple explanation as to how this works. In a nutshell, added mass/weight to push against makes the driver behave differently and therefore sound differently.
Highly recommended.
