Kit Overview

The MassDrop x Sennheiser HD6XX Copper Mass Loading Mod Kit features a shiny, nickel-plated copper weight designed to be added to the rear of the driver. This addition increases the mass at the driver’s rear and helps to smooth the airflow slightly during headphone operation. The result is more detailed bass reproduction and a subtle enhancement in sub-bass response.

Important Considerations

For optimal performance, it is recommended to combine the installation of this copper weight with the removal of the foam disk located at the rear of the driver. Removing the foam disk further improves the resolution, taking full advantage of the increased mass and airflow characteristics to elevate the sound quality of these already highly regarded headphones.

This version of the mod kit is specifically designed to complement the aesthetic of the HD6XX but is also fully compatible wit the HD600, HD650 and HD580 models. Installation is straightforward, requiring no special tools, and the mod can easily be removed if desired in the future.

Foam Inserts

The kit now includes four different foam inserts, enabling users to fine-tune the bass response to their personal preferences. These inserts allow for customisation while retaining the clarity and detail in the bass that results from the added mass loading weight.

Important Notice

While the modification process is relatively simple, it is important to proceed with care to avoid potential damage to the headphones. The mod can generally be completed safely and quickly if instructions are followed attentively. However it should be noted that any damage incurred during installation is the responsibility of the user.

Professional Installation Service

For those who are hesitant about performing the modification themselves, there is an option to have the kit professionally installed. This service is available for a fee of £20 plus postage costs.

But in the unlikely event that you do have an issue with them, please get in contact with us. We are happy to help you. We offer a full 2 year ‘return to base’ warranty, and we keep all spare parts in stock, so that we can also send replacement parts if necessary. Outside of the warranty period we still offer repairs on all our products for a fair price.

International orders

Close to 70% of our customers are outside of the UK, so we have a lot of experience with international orders and worldwide shipping. All packages over £50 have a form of international tracking.

– European packages normally take 4-6 days.
– US, AUS and Canada packages normally take 7-10 Days.
– Packages sent to the rest of the world can vary depending on local postal services.
– Packages shipping outside of the EU may be delayed in customs, but the tracking system should keep you updated of its progress.
