The Balanced Beyerdynamic DT1770 are closed-backed high-end studio headphones, that are popular with Hi-Fi enthusiasts, for their detailed and accurate sound signature. The original version is incompatible with balanced amps, however this is solved with our modified version.

We modify these Balanced DT1770s to take a balanced input. We re-wire them internally with our high-end litz wire and upgrade them to a 4-pin mini XLR.

These are built to order, which means you choose any colour for the cable and your choice of connection.

There is the option to have us fit the drivers with our mass loading and damping kit. This improves the bass detail and gives a slightly wider sound stage.

For a small fee, you also have the option to convert the original cable to a 4-pin mini XLR. With that option you will get 2 cables. One litz balanced cable for use with balanced sources, and one standard cable with a 3.5mm/6.3mm jack for use on most other equipment.

All of our modified headphones are made to order. They take between 2 and 4 weeks to make, then you will receive an email once they have been dispatched.

Customer service and warranty

We know that you are paying a premium for our headphones. Which is why we make our headphones durable and reliable. But in the unlikely event that you do have an issue with them, please get in contact with us. We are happy to help you. We offer a full 2 year ‘return to base’ warranty, and we keep all spare parts in stock, so that we can also send replacement parts if necessary. Outside of the warranty period we still offer repairs on all our products for a fair price.

International orders

Close to 70% of our customers are outside of the UK, so we have a lot of experience with international orders and worldwide shipping. All packages over £50 have a form of international tracking.

– European packages normally take 4-6 days.
– US, AUS and Canada packages normally take 7-10 Days.
– Packages sent to the rest of the world can vary depending on local postal services.
– Packages shipping outside of the EU may be delayed in customs, but the tracking system should keep you updated of its progress.

(For customers outside of the UK only) Unfortunately, customs duties and fees may be charged when ordering from outside of the UK. This is outside of our control. we are NOT responsible for import duties. We will NOT write false information on a customs document in order to lower fees.
