Modified Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones
The modifications to the drivers and ear cups provide extended detail and control in the bass. This is to match the already crisp mids and highs. The addition the socket allows the cable to be detached, so the headphones are easier to use on a range of sources. Whilst making them more portable and easy to store. We have also changed the wire around the headband, that takes the signal to the right ear cup. Replacing it with paracord covered litz wire, which matches our custom cables. This also provides a lower capacitance for better timing and sound.
This pair comes with one of our audiophile-grade, ultra-low capacitance cables. With choice of 3.5mm jack, 3-pin mini or 4-pin mini XLR at the headphone end. At the other end, a single ended connection of your choice.

All of our modified headphones are made to order. They will take between 2 and 4 weeks to make, then you will receive an email once they have been dispatched.
Customer service and warranty
We know that you are paying a premium for our headphones. Which is why we make our headphones durable and reliable. But in the unlikely event that you do have an issue with them, please get in contact with us. We are happy to help you. We offer a full 2 year ‘return to base’ warranty, and we keep all spare parts in stock, so that we can also send replacement parts if necessary. Outside of the warranty period we still offer repairs on all our products for a fair price.
International orders
Close to 70% of our customers are outside of the UK, so we have a lot of experience with international orders and worldwide shipping. All packages over £50 have a form of international tracking.
– European packages normally take 4-6 days.
– US, AUS and Canada packages normally take 7-10 Days.
– Packages sent to the rest of the world can vary depending on local postal services.
– Packages shipping outside of the EU may be delayed in customs, but the tracking system should keep you updated of its progress.
(For customers outside of the UK only) Unfortunately, customs duties and fees may be charged when ordering from outside of the UK. This is outside of our control. we are NOT responsible for import duties. We will NOT write false information on a customs document in order to lower fees. Had a pair of DT 770s for a few years and decided to upgrade to these once the cable started developing a short. Very happy with the purchase as these sound great.
I’ll probably wind up buying the kits and modding my old pair so I have a set of spares.

TLDR: A tremendous combination of value, audio quality and durability.
I’ve been interested and involved in headphones and audio equipment for about 7 years now. Having run through the gambit of closed and open back headphones along with all the related equipment.
My first major purchase of headphones were a set of moderately priced closed backs and I really wanted to like them but they were lacking in tonal balance and soundstage openness. I resigned myself to being an “open back” listener from there on and focused my purchases based on that style equipment. However over time it became evident in my living situation (wife does not care for all of my audio tastes) that I would have to have a set of closed back cans on hand for certain situations and being generally a considerate human being.
My biggest factors in choosing audio equipment are:
* Audio quality with realistic and enjoyable sound stage delivery.
* Dollar to performance ratio- I don’t have unlimited thousands of dollars of funds to frivolously throw at this hobby.
* Repairibility- It is important for me to choose sustainable repairable products.
After researching a multitude of options for closed backs in the sub $600 price range I ended up very interested in the Beyerdynamic 770’s as they checked many of the boxes I listed above. I even had the availability to listen to a set (unmodded) and while they were fine I felt the bass was not there and the cable was not what I desired. This of course led me to the internet to see what course of mods I would e able to perform myself and found my way to CC.
Long story short, I’ve tried all three variants of these headphones (unmodded, V2, V3). To my listening tastes the V3 mod on these headphones is excellent in everyway. The base is much more present but not boomy, the soundstage is opened up to a lovely level without feeling artificial, the sound and response is exactly what I was after.
The build quality and cable are consistent with the audio quality, the headphones feel sturdy and comfortable on my head for long periods of time. I’ve opened them up and confidently could repair or replace anything within them. The litz cables are pliable and sound great. Ends are made to what I would expect for a professional modification, no rough edges or gaps. Everything is put together very well and I would have no problem recommending these to anyone.
The Custom Cans DT770 ubers are among my favorite headphones and will remain in my collection for many years- 5/5 Stars.
