We were very impressed with the price to performance ratio of the stealth magnet version of the HE400se and decided to see how much extra goodness we could squeeze out of them. After months of R&D it turned out they had a lot to give. We have improved the airflow which has given them deeper, punchier, more accurate bass. We also put a lot of work into the inside of the earcup which gives a much more open and airy sound with a much wider sound stage. These come with the comfort head strap installed.
As standard they will come with the original HiFiMan cable but we do also have the option for one of our braided litz cables which have balanced options for use with balanced amps.
Customer service and warranty
We know that you are paying a premium for our headphones and that they are a very important part of your life. Our headphones are made durable and reliable, but in the unlikely event that you do have an issue with them, please get in contact with us and we will make sure that we get you sorted out. We offer a full 2 year ‘return to base’ warranty, and we keep all of the spare parts in stock so that we can also send replacement parts if necessary. Outside of the warranty period we still offer repairs on all our products for a fair price.
International orders
Close to 70% of our customers are outside of the UK, so we have a lot of experience with international orders and worldwide shipping. All packages over £50 will have a form of international tracking.
– European packages normally take 4-6 days.
– US, AUS and Canada packages normally take 7-10 Days.
– Packages sent to the rest of the world can vary depending on local postal services.
– Packages shipping outside of the EU may be delayed in customs, but the tracking system should keep you updated of its progress.

Normally I use Beyerdynamic Amiron Home headphones with a Custom Cans Litz cable. However, I was hankering after trying a pair of Planar style headphones but was reluctant to splash out after reading countless reviews about using EQ (something I don’t use) to make them sound better.
After browsing for another cable I decided to look at the Headphone section. It was then I spotted the HS400se’s at a decent price, so thought why not take the plunge.
Now after a months usage over various genres and formats here is my thoughts.
I find the Planar’s are better suited to Classical and synth based music. I’ve gone from listening to Tchaikovsky to Depeche Mode and am left stunned at the detail retrieval. They are certainly better than the Beyer’s in this respect
On the other hand I find they fall behind on Pop and Rock music. Cymbal and Hi-hats that are played in a fast rhythm can become fatiguing and guitars (think Jeff Healey) can become grating (Would EQ sort this, who knows?).
On refection, I am still giving the modded HE400SE’s a five star rating as they do really excel and perform way better than their price tag given the right music.
The service provided by your good selves was excellent and the headphones arrived as stated and were well packaged with everything in the box.
