Audiophile Silver HD25-1 Cable
After drooling over some of the cables from moon audio and cardas I decided to make a real audiophile cable to see how much difference they make.
I purchased some high end teflon covered silver cable and top of the range connectors and went to work….
First I took the cable and cut it into 4 pieces with two being a bit longer to keep the cable single sided entry ( the long bit will go over the headband to the left cup )
Then I created twisted pairs to stop any crosstalk
Then I twisted those pairs together wrapped the cable in nylon
Next – soldered on the connectors. I used a neutrik 3.5mm jack and cardas HPSC for the headphone end. To keep it all top notch I also used cardas quad solder and flux
And then for testing
Sound wise… After trying them with several high rez FLAC files I can confirm that it really does make a difference – you can hear extra detail in the recordings that you just don’t get with the steel one. I will make a few more practice ones and then probably start selling them – for the next one I will be plating the cable with strands of kevlar to make it stronger
