The mock up stages for craig charles.
Here is a step by step guide to show you how we made are super cool custom made headphones for the legend “Craig Charles”. The team at custom cans have been huge fans for sometime, and to show are appreciation we have created theses Beyerdynamics with a red dwarf, takeshi’s castle and robot wars theme to them.
Before starting the process, are artist Paul Newman likes to create a few quick illustrations to get a feel of what we are after.

Once happy with the chosen sketches, its then time to add the finishing touches into illustrator. This process can take a lot of patience due to the amount of detail involved, but with a bit of time you can really bring your illustrations to life.
Here are the final designs, as you can see they have come along way from the original drawings. The next stage is to print the images out and apply the transfer on to the ear cups.

Before the designs are transferred to the ear cups, they have to be clear coated first, this process is very important as it becomes scratch resistant and durable.
when the transfer is complete, its then time to air brush the final details.
And here you are, the finished piece. With a lot of hard work the head phones have come out looking great.
